The ISTD Newsletter

TypoGraphic News was the newsletter of the ISTD. When I moved to Colchester I met Les Curtis, who was editor of the TypoGraphic News. Les had kept the newsletter going for decades and my first attempts at critical writing were done for Les. In 1994 Les asked me to attend the ISTD committee meetings in London on his behalf. It was at this point that I took over the design of TypoGraphic News. However, after just two further issues Les bowed out causing the demise of the newsletter and I was invited to join the newly-formed TypoGraphic journal committee with Hans Dieter Reichert, Mike Daines and David Quay.
