Colchester Arts Society

The Minories, located in Colchester’s St Botolph Quarter, was bought In 1956 by the Victor Batte-Lay Trust and converted into a gallery. The Trust built a collection new works and, in addition, established an annual exhibition to showcase selected new work by contemporary members. These continued when the gallery was taken over by Colchester School of Art in 2008 and which were marked by a fulsome illustrated catalogue.
